FINDING SAFE HARBOR
"WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON?" When you read the news, watch TV, or surf the blogs on the Internet, you can almost hear that question ringing in thought with some anxiety, even alarm.
But there's another approach to the question. It's one that gives a viewpoint, rather than a point of view. One can actually observe events from the standpoint that God governs—that He is right now unfolding good.
Exploring the derivation of the word govern quickly leads to the fact that it is directly linked to the old French word governeur, or "pilot." Now, that was a remarkable discovery for me. My military service in the United States Coast Guard put me many times in the position of seeing a pilot take a ship in and out of tight and twisting harbors.
