A POWERFUL PRAYER: 'GOD IS LOVE'

When I was a young teenager, I began to experience fainting spells, which then escalated to seizures of varying degrees. Sometimes they lasted only a few moments. However, on one occasion, after collapsing on the floor, I slept all day without even waking for a drink of water. I know that my mother was praying for me, and at times she asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray, too.

As a Christian Scientist, my mother always turned to prayer when one of us kids was ill. However, in this case my parents would not have hesitated to get medical treatment for me if there wasn't a quick healing through prayer.

One Sunday morning, my mother was driving my two brothers and me to church. I was sitting in the back seat with one of my brothers. I had been attending a Christian Science Sunday School since I was three years old, and my earliest memory of that time is learning that God is Love.
