My heart sang as I read the January 3 issue ["AvantGarde"] . Each word of the interview with Sonja and Joe Maneri ["Exploring the unexplored"] urged me to the next. As a fiber artist who "paints" with yarn, I longed to delve into the abstract. I feel I've now found the best definition of abstract art in Sonja's statement, "Abstract art doesn't give you the picture literally—like things of the Spirit, it's not literal but it's real."
Thank you, Sentinel, for beginning the year on such a spiritual high note!
