CHRISTIAN HEALING IT'S POSSIBLE NOW

I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRACTICE JESUS' TEACHINGS ABOUT SPIRITUAL healing in a big way. I happened to have a medical examination, and was diagnosed with what is known as a fibroid. There are many different kinds of fibroids. Some are considered dangerous; others are not. I didn't know what type of fibroid I was dealing with, but I knew that I didn't want to treat it through an invasive medical procedure.

I had had a few experiences in my study of Christian Science where I felt as if I understood how spiritual healing worked and I was beginning to trust that it could work, so I was willing to try it. I thought I was ready to see if I could prove myself that what Jesus taught could be effective now. I wanted to follow the example he set—see myself the way he saw others. In the Bible, the first chapter of Genesis says that "man" was created in the "image" and "likeness" of God. Christian Science explains that Jesus brought out this fact, and maintains that you're spiritual because God is Spirit; that you're created by God pure, and holy, and free from any ailment, or anything that isn't good.

So I began an earnest study of the Bible, and of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which tells how Christian healing actually works. How it takes place. I was searching for ideas in these books on how to realize—to actually become conscious of the fact—that I wasn't a mere mortal. My identity wasn't made up of flesh and bones. I was really the expression of the pure substance of Spirit, of God. I had a spiritual existence, and that didn't include any fibrous tissues. My being included only spiritual good, and it was free from any disease.
