HEALED OF DIABETES IN PREGNANCY

During each of my previous pregnancies, I had suffered from gestational diabetes. Both had ended with medical intervention during delivery. However, my understanding of Christian Science was growing, and because of that, I was expecting my third pregnancy to be different. I had a great desire to prove the effectiveness of my prayers and of what I'd been learning in Christian Science.

I called a Christian Science practitioner, who agreed to pray with me throughout the pregnancy. We worked together to see that God, who is Love, was in charge of every aspect of the pregnancy and birth. And since God was good, He could not be planning for me to through the hope and effort of pregnancy only to come to a predetermined sad and futile end. In fact, a good God could not be planning anything but good for me.

Still, things were not going as I would have liked. At one of my regular medical checkups, I was told I had gestational diabetes again. Also, I found myself constantly troubled by the fear that my child would be stillborn. While it might seem foolish to fear something for no reason, once before I had been haunted in a similar manner by a different fear, and what I had been afraid of had later come to pass. I became terrified.
