A NEVER-SILENT VOICE
IN THE CITY OF BOMBAY where I live, as I write this article, a festival is being celebrated with loud, blaring noise—I wouldn't call it music, although it is meant to be. It would seem impossible to hear oneself, and yet, as I learn to be still and turn to God, I can hear the messages I need from God. I feel Her loving and calm guidance without being disturbed.
So often when I feel the need for hope and comfort in these days when all one hears is "How long is this going to go on?"—whether it's terrorism, war, cataclysmic hurricanes, the Asian tsunami, or the floods from torrential rains here in India—these words from a loved hymn come to my thought:
