LETTERS

Thank you for the July 18 issue of the Sentinel that focused on starting with a clean slate.

"I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten" (Joel 2:25) was a lighthouse to me and my husband, during a period when we were trying to wipe our slate clean. Over the years this verse has, for me, redeemed the past and opened my eyes (PRO-vision) to so much more than financial security; it has restored my purity. And, in so doing, it has also restored to my view the purity of my fellow man. I have been learning through my study and practice of Christian Science that man has been forever pure in God's eyes, but I needed to have my eyes opened. I needed to "see as God sees."

Now, once having my eyes opened and glimpsed the glories of God, it is my moment-by-moment prayer to stay awake, alert, and invested in spiritual sense and divine reason (a terrific investment), and not get indebted to the false gods of material sense and limited human reasoning (which I have discovered will bankrupt man). The Sentinel helps me to follow the advice of Jesus, "What I say unto you I say unto all, WATCH" (Mark 13:37).
