THE FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST, ANNOUNCES THE 'HURRICANE KATRINA FUND'
Our hearts go out to all those affected by Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and throughout the Gulf Coast area. We invite our readers to join those all over the world who are praying to know that God's ever-present love is with everyone—comforting, guiding, and protecting, at every moment.
At the same time, The Christian Science Board of Directors has established a relief fund to provide needed humanitarian and spiritually focused aid in the region. The Mother Church will distribute humanitarian aid funds to reputable organizations already working in the affected areas to provide food, clothing, and shelter. Spiritually focused aid, for example distribution of Christian Science literature, lectures, and broadcasts, will be provided in cooperation with local branches of The Mother Church.
