Searching for Christ's impact today

THERE ARE COUNTLESS PEOPLE seeking God, looking for assurance that there is a God, holding the hope that God's power can touch life now. They're yearning for a connection to God, and asking, "How can I find it?"

This kind of search is discussed frequently in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. For example, the great prophet Jeremiah shared this message from God: "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord" (Jer. 29:13, 14). There's more to that kind of seeking, or praying, than one might realize. It is an unreserved, total commitment to look for the presence of God, the power of God, the counsel of God—and resort to nothing else.

"When ye shall search for me with all your heart. . . " A friend sometimes jokes with me, in reference to those words, "What is it about the word all that you don't understand?"
