Did I make a mistake or didn't I?
I Hadn't Meant To Be A Mole, a stool pigeon, a tattletale. And I had not tried to put someone's job in jeopardy. But that's what it looked like. And I was feeling awful about it. Where could I turn for comfort and guidance?
Although I worked for the government in what is predominately a two-party system, I had never considered myself political. My job was to serve the constituency regardless of which political party was in power. However, when an election moved control from one party to the other, I found myself embroiled in political maneuverings.
The new administration arrived, eager to establish a new order. Analysts such as myself throughout the organization were consolidated and centralized. Now our entire function was to be done exclusively from one new office.
