Transitions: The beginning of the journey
In June 2003, writer/artist Debra Woodward and her husband, Dawson, sold their home in Texas to cut expenses while Dawson's work was in transition. They found, though, that this freed them to consider wider possibilities for their life together, setting them on a journey of discovery and spiritual growth. With their three-year-old son, Weston, they set off toward their redesigned life. Along for the ride are River and Molly—a golden retriever mix and an Australian shepherd.
Spirituality.com asked Debra to share her spiritual perspective during this time of transition.
As I sit here looking out of the window, I wonder where the heck I am going—and if I should pack bug spray, just in case. I have no idea where I will go or what I will do by summer's end. And so far, most of what I have learned is that I still have a lot to learn.
