'Now I feel regenerated'

When I first became acquainted with Christian Science, it was love at first sight. What I was reading was so logical.

At that time, I was very demanding with life and with other people. I criticized those who weren't like me and distanced myself from them. I didn't like too many people and didn't know how to be loving. The day came when I felt alone and dissatisfied with myself. That's when Christian Science made me see that I had to develop the love that already existed within me and learn how to receive love from others.

Then healing led me to study Christian Science even more deeply. I had read the Portuguese magazine O Arauto da Christian Science for years and shared issues of it with others after reading them. Then I began to study the Weekly Bible Lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly, which consist of passages from the Bible and from Science and Health. My steps of spiritual growth were very slow, although I loved reading and talking to everybody about it. When I began to experience problems in the neck, I prayed for myself, but did not get better. I was in pain and tried to hide this from my family.
