Broken hand healed
Originally published in Der Christian Science Herold
One Sunday last October our son, who was living in a dormitory at his university, was out riding his racing bike. That afternoon we got a call from him. He was in the hospital because he'd had an accident. I asked him how he was feeling. "Good," was the answer. He said he wanted to leave the clinic and come home. He found out what clinic he was in, and we went to see him there.
As Christian Scientists, our family has relied on God for healing and found this reliance to be effective. This explains our son's wish to leave. I prayed to God, and the thoughts came—a flood of glorious promises, too many to count. God was present. So there wasn't any reason for sadness or worry. This was an opportunity to witness a proof of God's total power and loving care. All the wonderful thoughts that came to me were a confirmation to me of His care and presence.
This thought process somehow didn't take too long a time—everything went really quickly. I found one thought especially helpful: "The angels of His presence are in the clinic, filling all space. God's law is the only power and is always in force. God is always active, and He expresses Himself through us."
