Severe influenza quickly healed
This past summer, my husband and I spent three weeks staying in an apartment friends had made available to us near Florence, Italy. At the end of the first week, I woke up one morning with a sore throat and a cold. Why now? I thought. So many wonderful places to explore, and this could wreck it all!
I realized that approach wouldn't help. Nor, in my case, would I turn to an aspirin. As a Christian Scientist, I had always chosen to turn first to God for healing, so I immediately prayed to establish the conviction of my spiritual identity as a child of God. Based on this, I firmly denied the right of any other power to influence or control me or my body.
Soon the pain had lifted sufficiently for me to spend a happy day walking with my husband all over Florence. On the way back we saw a beautiful double-rainbow over the Arno River.
