PRAYER ON ALERT
Steve Graham, the Sentinel's managing editor, wrote the following account on August 25:
1:15 p.m. Wednesday
I have just heard about you over the radio playing in the coffee shop at lunch. An Amber Alert announcement says you were last seen late last night west of here, with some guys who don't sound too trustworthy, and that we all need to be looking for you. That you are a young girl with brown hair who weighs about 110 pounds, and that you were wearing a white blouse. All over the metro area, people are hearing about you on the news and reading about you on the information boards over the expressways. Apparently you got in the way of some trouble and need help urgently.
