Health and healing: ours from God
In March 2002, I was in Monteverde, Costa Rica, where my wife and I spend several months each year. I had just returned from a Habitat for Humanity house-building project in Nicaragua. On the bus ride back to Costa Rica, I had felt a sharp pain in my left knee, and noticed that my leg had become quite swollen. I soon became unable to walk, and was confined to the first floor of our cabin home.
Because I had successfully relied on the teachings of Christian Science for healing all my life, I turned with confidence to scientific prayer. I had no doubt that healing would result. It hadn't occurred to me to linger over trying to determine what had caused the condition. I just felt that didn't have any bearing on the prayer that needed to be done to accomplish the healing.
