An abundance of peace
The World's Need For Peace Has Never been greater than it is today. People long to "delight themselves in the abundance of peace" (Ps. 37:11).
Editor Michael Collopy says in a beautifully illustrated book of observations on the world situation from 74 peacemakers of our time that the peace process needs to be nurtured and revered. We should "dare to look deep within ourselves for change," he says in his introduction. "Our hearts hold the love and compassion we need to attain our goal of peace, where we may all live in harmony and equality, realizing the true community of the earth" (Architects of Peace, New World Library, Novato, California, 2000).
Several contributors to this issue of Sentinel make similar observations inspired by the teachings of the chief architect of peace, whose coming they have just joined in celebrating—the Messiah, the Prince of Peace (see Isa. 9:6).
