Although I have tried to be an honest and respectful relative to a family member, she seems to have viewed my church as being so opposite to her brand of Christianity that she hasn't given me more than a minimum serving of tolerance, and has expressed neither an interest nor concern in the church to which I belong.

Thanks to the Sentinel, however, things have perked up substantially. A few weeks ago (March 17) you ran an interview with a Baptist preacher, Dr. Levi Price ["Getting outside the doors—a story of hope and inspiration"]. In elaborating on his desire to share mercifully and impartially, Price said: "You've got to get outside the doors and make a difference in your town, and you do it in the name of Christ. You don't do it necessarily to force people into heaven. And you don't do it to make them Baptists. This is really a big deal nowadays, you don't do it to make them Baptists."

As his church was the only church mentioned, I felt my relative wouldn't think I was tooting my own horn if I were to mail her this interview. About a week later, I received a call from her. She mentioned that she and her husband had read it, and she added, "That's exactly how I feel!"
