Unlocking God's potential in Southern Africa

"Ideas change the world only when they are shared."

I thought: "If only I had some helpful ideas to share about the AIDS epidemic, unemployment, and violent crime in South Africa—and about the Zimbabwean situation."

On my hike to Gate 27, I had been reading the messages on posters that appeared at regular intervals along walkways and escalators. The first was a caption to a photograph of an elderly woman with a wizened, brown face under a battered sunhat. She was wearing a white blouse and a necklace of clay beads in rainbow colors. She was deep in thought, and looked with shining eyes into the far distance across parched veld that hadn't seen a rainbow in ages.
