Her youth did not hold her back
Written for O Arauto da Christian Science
I attended a technical high school and graduated with a diploma in accounting. I then took the entrance exams for admittance into law school. (In Brazil you go directly from high school into law school.) I had always had the best grades in school, so I thought I was ready to pursue higher learning.
But I failed the exam and was very disappointed. I wanted very much to study law and was convinced that my choice was correct. This conviction made me even more frustrated, and I cried a lot that afternoon.
After a period of great dejection, an inner voice started to remind me that I could trust God to guide my life. I decided to rely more on God than on my personal choices. The thought came to me that I should start looking for work in accounting. I talked to my dad about this possibility, and he told me about a friend of his who had an accounting business.
