PRAYER ABOUT FIRES
Forest fires have been raging for weeks in places such as Colorado and Arizona. But people who are far from these fires probably feel disconnected and powerless to do anything. And those close to the fires have often been forced to stand by, helpless and sometimes hopeless, as firefighters struggle just to contain these devastating goliaths.
From a distance, is there anything we can do to effectively assist those battling these blazes? I believe that the quality of our thoughts—and the quelling of fear in our own lives—can have an impact on the outcome of such disasters.
I have been searching in prayer to bring healing to bear on the whole subject of forest fires—both on the currently raging fires, out of control as I write this, and the devastating ones that burned through Australia last year. Across the globe, year after year, fire threatens wildlife and human life indiscriminately, and there's seldom much encouraging news about solving the problem.
