Disease healed when seen to be unreal
Toward the end of last summer, having finished my job as a camp counselor, I was looking forward to spending a few weeks visiting my friends and family. I headed out of camp and started driving south.
By the time I got to my brother's house only a few hours later, my throat was hurting a great deal, and I had a tremendous headache. Within a day, I was unable to swallow anything or even to drink. Shortly after that, I wasn't able to talk, walk, function, or think clearly. I was feeling weak and afraid. It was very difficult at this point to communicate what I needed or how I was feeling.
Although I had been praying about this situation all along, I felt as if I needed some extra support in prayer, so I got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner. Since I couldn't speak, I spent a lot of time listening to and thinking about the thoughts and prayers that he shared with me. He assured me that I was the perfect idea and reflection of God.
