letters

I just want to express my gratitude for the recent issues. They have been so inspiring! I especially love Nate Talbot's article, "In a clash of wills: victory or surrender?" (April 22). I never thought of "My will that God's will be done." I have been guilty of praying in just that way many times. How freeing to know that God's will is going to be done in spite of us! That's comforting to me, especially when I can't see a solution to something.

I wanted to thank you for the recent article in the "Parenting" column by [Name removed by request] entitled "Taming the wild what-ifs" (April 29). I certainly remember some of the "what if you had this or that problem?" questions I used to receive in school when my sister and I were generally the only, or just the few, Christian Scientists as students. I wish I had been self-possessed enough to respond with a "Well, what are you expecting?" type of answer that would show we all can rely on our divine Parent to care for, watch over, love, and protect us. We can be expectant of good!
