Spiritual healing—it's natural

Healing is the natural result of prayer. It happens all the time. It's the complete, permanent end to any problem—physical or otherwise. A common tendency is to undervalue the effects of prayer or to dismiss them as coincidence. But sometimes the healing is so dramatic that it can't be brushed aside. In such a case, even if the person healed can't explain it, he or she will never forget it—and will never be convinced that it was anything other than God that did the work.

I had a healing like this once. In my early 20s I had a condition in my side that I'd coped with since high school. It became exhaustingly painful. Finally, unable to concentrate well at work, I called a Christian Science practitioner, and she agreed to pray for me. Within a short time—maybe a few days—I was healed. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't explain it. At first I didn't even accept it. I had lived with this problem for so long, I could hardly believe the pain was gone and that my body was normal.

That was 25 years ago. And as I think back on it today, I realize that after that healing, I never smoked again. My whole life had improved.
