The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity

In her true light...

A look at the unpublished writings of Mary Baker Eddy

In September 2002, The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity will open its doors. For the rest of this year, the Sentinel will bring readers selections from the Library's previously unpublished collection of materials.

The following excerpt is from a sermon Mary Baker Eddy gave on February 8, 1885, in Boston, Massachusetts.

"There is at this hour a presence of divine influence that seems like one tidal wave ready to sweep over and deluge the earth with its holy power. It comes to the heart in the silence of its consecration to that which is good and spiritual. And turning away from the material sense of life, truth and love, substance, [and] intelligence, to the one life, which is God, the great truth and love that hath wrought salvation from sin, sickness and death and brought it into the grasp of our own human possibilities."
