Major surgery not needed

When I was a teenager, I began to have bladder infections. The pain and suffering were terrible. My mother took me to a GP who prescribed various medication. But I never felt 100 percent. Then, when I was in the military, the doctors gave me various medications, including painkillers. Because I was not in pain, I thought the problem had gone away.

This continued while I was serving in the military, into my 20s. I began to have episodes of hemorrhaging, a dull pain, fevers, and constipation, which were all related to this infection.

My mother, who was an RN, recommended a specialist she had confidence in. He and his partner determined the infection had spread, and they found there were numerous cysts in my uterus that were infected. Here began a period of heavy medication and frequent doctor visits. At one visit, the doctor said to me. "You have to find a church." Now, I was feeling awful that day, and he had not given me anything for the pain, and his words just upset me. I had gone to church off and on all my life. And it was not a place I associated with relief.
