It's God
When my dad became interested in Christian Science, I had lots of questions. How can prayer possibly heal? How does spiritual healing happen?
I did know, however, that my father had been cured of a long-standing back problem. After he had been healed, I remember him carrying full cans of milk from the dairy barn to the milk-room. But how he'd been healed remained a mystery to me.
I felt as puzzled as Dr. E. A. Davis must have been when Mary Baker Eddy cured his dying patient. Here's what happened. In 1868, on a Saturday, Mrs. Eddy (then Mary Patterson) got a telegram informing her that "Mrs. Gale is very sick, please come Monday morning if possible. Answer yes or no."
