Like a mother bird
When I didn't feel well this week, I thought about God. He takes care of us and keeps us safe, like a mother bird. When I woke up, I jumped out of bed and went to hug my mommy. Thank you, God, for healing me!

God takes care of us and keeps us safe.
I'm Jenna's mom. Jenna was very feverish and achy for a couple of days, and became quite afraid. We sang the words to Mary Baker Eddy's poem "Love" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 30). That was when Jenna began to think about the care a mother bird shows her babies.
There had been a nest of doves right outside our window in the spring, and Jenna had seen the mother dove express so much patience and love toward her two fledglings. Jenna had felt that love, I'm sure, and recognized that it came from God. It was easy, then, to think of herself as a "fledgling" of God. This made her feel safe and happy. And it healed her, too!
