Injured eye restored

When I was about 20, I had a job that included cutting down some large gorse bushes. One of the very prickly branches swung back into my face as I was working.

That evening my mother noticed that my eye looked inflamed. I was not in pain or troubled by it. and I thought that the redness would go away. But my mother was alarmed by it, and she made me promise to see a doctor if it was not better by the end of the weekend.
