Birth complications resolved through prayer

Translated from French

During the birth of our last child, in 1998, my wife and I drove to a birthing center located about three miles from where we live. I left her there around 9 p.m. and returned home.

The next morning when I went to the center, one of the midwives told me the baby was not positioned correctly and that it would be necessary to perform a Caesarean section. I was upset, and I didn't know what to do. But a thought came to me: "If my wife is an idea of God, why would she need surgery?" I said nothing about this to the midwife.

When I got to work, I telephoned a friend, who's a Christian Science practitioner, to ask him to pray for me. I explained the situation to him. He asked me to think about these ideas: God is in action right now, speaking to your consciousness and revealing His presence. There is no resistance to God's power. The divine Principle is absolute and permits no error, just as the light leaves no place for darkness. Divine action is perpetual, and nothing can stop it.
