The prayer of peace

It brings healing near and far.

When a friend sent me an e-mail message asking me to join a group of people who were taking a certain hour of the day to pray for peace, I felt that my life was too busy and unpredictable to do so. I forwarded the message to people I thought would be interested and left it at that. I didn't realize how relevant prayer for peace would soon become in my own life.

Caring for my infant son was one of the things that kept me so busy. For some time I had been having trouble getting Weston to sleep through the night, every night, and take regular naps. When I had tried various methods to no avail, I called a Christian Science practitioner and asked her to pray with me about this problem.

The practitioner told me that when I was at peace, I would know what to do to help Weston and how to do it. I would know when to pick him up and when to let him cry. She also said that this was a good time for me to learn about the loving control of me and my son that our divine Parent always exerted.
