Healed of electric shock
We had decided to install an extractor fan in the bathroom ceiling. There was a power point in the loft just above the bathroom—so, what could be easier?
I placed a ladder up through the loft trap door, climbed up, switched on the light, and took the cover off the power point. Then I descended to get tools and wire. I returned with these and, as I stood near the top of the ladder, my left hand contacted the power point. Wow! I had broken the first commandment of dealing with electricity—Switch off the power.
A huge shock passed through my body. I tried to shake the power point off my hand, but couldn't break the contact. I thought, "If I climb down the ladder, I can pull my hand away." However, at that point I blacked out and fell down to the passage floor below. Now I was disconnected—but unconscious.
