Staying off the cliffs
I heard a TV interview where a man explained that he was uncertain every month as to how or if his needs would be met. He was founder and administrator of a mission, a place where the poor came for a free meal. He often felt stressed out about finances because he was dependent on the contributions from the public to keep the place going. Every time it looked as if he was about to go under, he found that somehow God would bail him out. Then he would breathe a sigh of relief that he could go on for another month.
I'm sure that we can all see much good as we learn about complete trust in God's power to help us. However, being a cliffhanger—one who lives a suspenseful type of existence—is scary. It is more than wonderful to learn and thereby prove that our cause and creator, our maintainer, sustainer, preserver—and the only source of Life and good—is God alone. We are one with God and can never be separated from Him for an instant. As the Bible promises, it is the Father's "good pleasure to give you the kingdom" (Luke 12:32).
