YOUR LETTERS

Messages that reach the heart

I read nearly all Sentinels from cover to cover, especially in this challenging time after the September 11 tragedy. However, now I feel that only reading them is not enough. I must share with as many people as possible some of the beautiful articles written after that tragedy. The uplifting and constructive ideas contained in those articles, I think, should be read by people around the world.

Thank you so much for printing articles like "Where's the real battleground?" by Colin Treworgy and "A place apart from fear" by Bettie Gray in the November 5 issue. I immediately translated these two articles into Indonesian and made copies of the translation. And I gave the copies to family members, friends, and acquaintances who do not speak English; most of them are non-Christians. I could give out the articles because nothing in them could be considered as some kind of proselytizing. Their messages reach out to the hearts of all men and women, no matter what religion they profess. Many countries at present, I think, are facing similar challenges, and they need answers.
