God's laws provable

One day the summer before last my family decided to try a new sport together—golfing. We got a golf-course pass and set out for an evening of family fun.

On arriving, we decided to hit a few practice shots before going out onto the course. Since I'd had no prior experience, I needed some brief instruction in the fundamentals of the game. I was leaning down to watch the instructor show the proper way to hold the golf club, when he swung the club at full force and hit me on the side of the head.

Stunned, and thinking I was going to lose consciousness, I made it to a nearby bench to lie down. My family repeated several passages to me from Science and Health with conviction in an effort to pray about the situation. They knew that the things they were saying would help me feel calm and would lead to my healing. One of the things they said was "the scientific statement of being" (p. 468). It begins: "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." They also spoke this to me: "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection" (Science and Health, p. 424).
