STRENGTH
Strong, with God
We were opening presents one Christmas morning ... when the phone rang. My joyful "Hello!" was met with the tragic news that my young son-in-law had just been killed in a car accident. "Oh, NO!" was my first response. I felt weak and helpless. But then came this message from God: "The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe" (Prov. 18:10).
When I got the news that this loved one was killed, the conflict that I had to settle within myself was between Life and death. Which was I to accept? I could not concur with them both since they were opposites.
