Injuries quickly healed

A couple of years ago our car skidded out of control, hydroplaning across the road and hitting a large rock outcropping on the side of the road. The car reversed direction before coming to a halt.

Several minutes before this all happened, I had been impelled to pray, and I had been thinking about God's presence. This prayer protected me, I am certain, because when the car stopped, I wondered if I might be passing on. But on the heels of this thought was another, stronger, thought that God was Life—always —and that I wanted to live. When my husband asked if I was all right, I could say yes.

After a while, paramedics arrived and urged us to go to a hospital to be checked. I wanted to rely only on Christian Science, so I declined their urging and signed their disclaimer of responsibility.

Finally, several hours later, my husband and I were driven home. Our car was a total loss and had to be towed away.

I called a friend who had been devoting her time to Christian Science healing and asked her to pray for me. I was in so much pain that it hurt even to get out of bed. But I felt grateful for being to be at home.

I returned to work in just one week, healed.

I prayed each day to know I had never for an instant been separated from God. I prayed to realize that I moved by the force of God, not muscles. The woman who was praying for me shared many helpful statements of spiritual truth, and was very kind to me. I was comforted by hearing the rustling of leaves in my backyard, suggesting God's gentle presence, as I sat and prayed to feel whole and close to God.

My bruises and soreness disappeared. My husband was also treated by a Christian Science practitioner for soreness, and he had a full recovery from the accident.

I returned to work in just one week, healed and ready to resume a busy schedule.
