YOUR LETTERS

Chaplain Ryder Stevens's (November 13) keen situational awareness and prayer-inspired thinking represent a global value to the military and civilian community. The military chaplain's role sometimes appears fuzzy to peers and commanders. Chaplain Stevens's approach to his peacekeeper duty is sure to reduce that uncertainty.

Once during a challenging military situation I contacted a chaplain for prayerful help. He was also a Christian Scientist. Resolution was swift and permanent. We then enjoyed a trusted friendship until his passing more than 40 years later.
