The power of God was applicable
One Sunday, I came home after church filled with inspiration. I began preparing lunch, and turned on the oven. Then, within seconds, I changed my mind and turned off the oven, thinking it would be easier to use the microwave.
There was some residue from the oven's cleaning cycle that had been completed the day before, and I firmly grabbed the heating element with my hand to lift it up out of the way and remove the debris from the bottom of the oven. But even in that short time, the heating element had gotten extremely hot. The pain in my hand was intense, but ideas from my study of Christian Science that week came to me with great power. With that, the pain stopped.
