In awe of Love
Teach me how to love, O Lord.
I yearn to do it so,
To share your kindness and your word,
Your good the world to show.
But how to turn from love of self
To see another's need?
To leave the comfort of my world
Another's want to feed?
In the secret of the heart's lone cell
I really know the way
To love You greatly, first, and well,
To You the service pay.
As Jesus showed us long ago,
Christ leads us now to see—
Do good unto the least of men,
We've done it unto Thee.
Joann Cook Smedley
