Recurring nosebleeds healed
From early childhood I was able to prove that Christian Science is a practical, healing religion. I had many fears to overcome: these had brought on extreme nervousness and recurring severe nosebleeds. With the supporting prayers of my mother and my own study of Christian Science, every aspect of my illness was mastered.
Because of these childhood trials, I gained a deep and abiding faith in God's love. I can remember waking at night full of fear. So I would turn to God by singing hymns. A quietness and peace would come over me, and I would be able to go back to sleep. My mother was also praying earnestly with me.
When I was about nine years old, my parents divorced, and this disturbed me deeply. Both my parents were very loving, and I missed my father a great deal. Twice my mother took me out of school so I could be with my grandparents in the peace and quiet of country life. Together, my grandmother and I daily studied the Christian Science Quarterly Weekly Bible Lessons. One time while we were reading, I had a severe nosebleed. When we finished the Lesson, I reread the account of one of Jesus' healings, which had captured my attention. A few months later, I realized that I had not had another nosebleed since that day, and the healing has been permanent.
