You're innocent! Enjoy it
I REMEMBER THE FIRST time I went to camp as a young boy. After arriving, the campers were all examined for athlete's foot. I had no trace of this condition. I was devastated. When I returned home, I was almost in tears. I told my mom, "I'll never grow up to be a good athlete, because I don't have athletes' feet!"
Such innocence. Not only did I not know the name of this infection, but I was also free from any fear of it. Throughout my childhood, I had a growing sense of God's great love for His children, and a growing understanding that God, good, is the only reality. The Bible and Science and Health were the basis of my spiritual education.
One effect of my growing conviction of God's love for me was that I had a very happy, healthy childhood. From kindergarten through my graduate studies, I missed only one day of school because of illness. (And, yes, I did play on many athletic teams!)
