It was a case of mistaken identity
How I prayed when I lost my wallet
While renewing my driver's license, I heard my name called and went to pick up my license. Was I ever surprised when I glanced at the photo—the name and other information on the license were mine, but the picture wasn't. Of course, I returned to the counter, pointed out the mistake, and got the license corrected.
Obviously, I hadn't lost my identity just because the wrong picture was placed on my license. But there are not-so-obvious times, times when it can feel as though you really don't know who you are. So where can you find your real identity?
We can be glad that the Bible answers this question in its very first chapter, describing "man" (male and female) as made in God's likeness. What's true of God is true of His child—of you and me. Because God is Spirit, the divine image and likeness is spiritual. Because God is Mind, His image is intelligent, creative. Because God is Principle, each of us is actually principled and law-abiding. In short, our true identity includes nothing unlike our pure and perfect creator, God.
