Drinking habit overcome

I had been drinking alcoholic beverages for twenty years, until 1993. Through a friend I came across Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. As I read, the truth was understood, and by April 1995 I had completely stopped drinking. I was inspired by what Science and Health says about Jesus destroying sin: "Jesus uncovered and rebuked sin before he cast it out.... He came teaching and showing men how to destroy sin, sickness, and death" (p. 6).

Through prayers during this time, I was healed of beer drinking and other social evils. As a member of The Mother Church today, I thank the Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, for the inspiring truth and spiritual healing.
