Chronic illness healed; character softened

My deep interest in Christian Science began in 1989, when I came in contact with a Christian Science practitioner. At the time, I was suffering from headaches and stomachaches. The practitioner, at my request, prayed with and for me, and gave me the wonderful book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. Keenly I started to read and ponder the scientific explanation of Scriptural passages that gave me inspiration and strength. As St. Paul declared, "The law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ" (Gal. 3:24).

I continued daily with my spiritual study, and I began to see that because I'm God's child—His reflection and His image and likeness—I cannot be sick. Suffering exists only in the make-believe mortal mind. After quite a bit of scientific reasoning and prayer, the headaches and stomachaches ceased to disturb me.
