Feeling scared? Get to know God
Have you ever felt afraid? Some people are afraid of black cats. A young child may cry before a first haircut. And anyone might jump at a shadow that turns out to be his or her own.
Fear of things like cats and haircuts and shadows goes away as we grow up and learn they can't hurt us. But what if it's hard to stop feeling afraid? Getting better acquainted with God is a sure way to get rid of fear.
A very small girl named whitney used to be afraid right in her own bedroom. Early every morning, when the room was still partly dark, she lay stiff with fright. She was sure she could see a tiger ready to spring out of the corner.
