Trust in God brings freedom from back pain
A while ago, a companion and I flew to Greece for a tour that entailed much walking and climbing. After a few days, my back started to hurt, making it difficult for me to keep with the group. My first thought was to call someone for help, but then I thought to myself, "Why? My help is right here. God is right here or I wouldn't be here. I am God's image. God is infinite, and I cannot be outside His loving care." I spent that evening claiming these facts. I recognized that God is Mind, and as Science andHealth points out, "Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action" (p. 283). Bible verses came to mind, also. Among them: "For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me" (Job 23:14), and "The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me" (Ps. 138:8).
I woke the next morning brand new and ready to go with the group.
