Injury healed; financial crisis solved
A few years ago I was playing tennis on artificial grass on a warm summer day. Such surfaces are laid like a carpet on a bed of sand, which in turn needs to be kept damp to remain in place. In this warm weather it had not been possible to apply sufficient water, so the dry sand was starting to come up through the artificial grass, which made the surface slippery.
In a competitive game, I tried to get to a ball that was out of my reach, and I fell on my racquet. The handle hit my ribs. It seemed necessary to retire from the game and make my way slowly home.
Later that evening, it took me half an hour to get from standing beside the bed to lying down on it. The pain was acute. Yet I reached out to know that "the life-giving quality of Mind is Spirit, not matter" (Science and Health, p. 517). I knew that the activity of good could have no accompanying penalty. The pain rapidly ceased.
