A life transformed
I would like to express gratitude for Christian Science and for all that it has done for my family. It is my wish in sharing this very personal testimony that it might help others who find themselves in similar situations to truly know that anything is possible when we put our trust in God.
I was raised in another religion, which I left soon after I was grown. I continued to read the Bible at times and was comforted, but I had no real understanding of God, and I didn't know how to pray effectively. I made some foolish mistakes, and within ten years I had been divorced twice and was raising five children by myself. We were fortunate to have caring relatives who took us in over the next few years. However, life was very difficult. And always there were feelings of loneliness, guilt, and failure.
The crisis came when I was working as a secretary to a sales manager of a large company. I was being sexually harassed by the office manager, who was a married man. Although I was lonely and vulnerable, I knew I did not want to become involved in that type of relationship. It became increasingly difficult for me to go to work each morning. I had no appetite and began losing weight, and I was unable to sleep.
