Lump in breast eliminated through prayer
In the fall of 1992, I discovered a lump on my breast one evening. As I went to bed, I prayed for myself. But in a day or two I noticed that the lump was still there. I took this very seriously because others in my family have had cancer.
The subject of the Lesson-Sermon (found in the Christian Science Quarterly) that week was "God the Only Cause and Creator," and I read it twice very thoroughly that day. The basic idea I prayed to understand more fully is that since God is the only cause and this cause is all good, there can be no cause or effect known as disease. By the time I went on some errands that afternoon, I had a quiet sense that I was safe, inside and outside.
Still, I was afraid to touch the area where the lump had been. To prove I wasn't kidding myself about being healed, over the next several days I consciously faced down the fear. After I had done this, I was able to confirm that the healing had taken place. The lump was gone, and the problem hasn't returned.
